The closing date for PDA and PDE awards is Monday March 16th 2020
Maximum Professional Development Award grant is $3,000
Maximum Professional Development Event grant is $5,000
Outcomes in late April or early May 2020

The maximum grant in the March 16th 2020 Professional Development Award grant round is $3,000, and is primarily intended to cover travel to attend conferences, or participate in education or training courses.

The maximum Professional Development Event award is $5,000. Note that we now have a specific form and process for Event support – previously the Special Purpose Grant form was used. The purpose of a Professional Development Event grant is to fund the travel and accommodation of a distinguished overseas speaker to a New Zealand-based conference, or to support a training course in the field of cancer. The application should be made by the chair of the local organising committee. PDE awards will also be offered in the second grant round, closing date Tuesday September 1st 2020.

Outcomes of the March 16th round will be announced in late April or early May 2020. Retrospective awards will not be made, so applications should be for travel or activities commencing after mid May 2020.

The CRTNZ Board has increased the annual stipend of future Postgraduate Scholarship from $25,000 to $35,000 per annum for 3 years. The new figure will be applied to Scholarships awarded from December 2020. University fees will also be funded. The closing date for Scholarship applications is Thursday October 1st 2020.
