NZSO welcomes RFP for special interest groups
Closing date 31st May 2020
Great uncertainty defines 2020 thus far. In light of the upheaval in professional and personal lives in NZSO membership and the research community more widely, the NZSO executive has extended the deadline for applications. Thanks to those who have already submitted.
My thoughts, on behalf of the executive, go out to each of you.
The New Zealand Society of Oncology is excited to invite proposals from within membership of the NZSO to form "special interest groups" – known as SIGs.
It is envisaged that SIGs would have a particular focus e.g. immunology research or gastrointestinal cancer clinical research/treatment.
Proposals should include a mission statement/focus of activity, proposed steering group including chairperson/point of contact. Please provide a brief outline of proposed activities.
The executive of the NZSO, as per 2019 AGM, hope that this broadens the relevance of NZSO and will act as a catalyst for research and education collaborations across cancer care/research in the New Zealand environment. Preference will be given to those groups able to demonstrate a commitment to principles of inclusion.
In turn, NZSO will provide a formal structure and secretarial support for meetings/membership activities. Allied SIGs will gain access to NZSO social media, websites and newsletters for advertising and communication.
Allied SIG status will be reviewed bi-annually
